St Albans Road, Ex Landfill

Anyone know whats going on at the ex Landfill site off St Albans Road. Few months ago they cleared a huge area and I've noticed again they have ploughed the land.

A quick Google reveals plans for a new Gypsy/Travel site. Is this going ahead? I wouldn't of thought they would be allowed on ex landfill, environmental/health reasons etc.

I meant Stafford Council offering it too them.

National rules mean the local authority must provide pitches for gypsies and travellers

You just wouldn't think the laws would let them provide ex landfill... wishful thinking perhaps. Stone throw from my house.

To be fair Hetairoi we could do with a brand new ring road, better parking and dog owners to pick up dog poop after them, your priorities are all wrong.

You forgot lots more housing that most people from Stafford can't afford!

Maybe rather than travellers site we should call it affordable housing?

I cycle past this every day on my way to work and wonder what the impact will be on the surrounding area? From the lines it's a just a short hop to both residential properties and businesses that are already plagued by theft. Plus it can't be good for wildlife in what has become quite a wildlife rich area. I can only hope it has a bit steel fence around it so the only access is on to the road, not out the back on to the lines.
