Details will go up in Events later, but this is an advanced notification.

It will be taking place on 1st-3rd August at the Blessed William Howard School. Planning has just started and details will be posted as they become available.

Any beers or ciders you would particularly like? Can't guarantee that we can get them but we will try. Any other suggestions?

Ooh, I'm there!

No particular requests I guess, I'm a fan of most medium - dry ciders really. Had a few nice ones from gwynt y ddraig recently, fiery fox was rather nice and black dragon is always a favourite.

The craft beer and real ale debate http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-21541887 I assume that some of the new American style brews will not be there. Hope I'm wrong because in many ways they are really worth a try.

Only last week I was enjoying a West Coast Pale Ale in a Manchester Pub brewed in Huddersfield by http://www.magicrockbrewing.com/our-beers/

Craft beer is pretty much a meaningless term in the UK, but as defined by the American Brewers Association it covers all small independent brewers. Their definition of small covers the majority of British brewers. So yes, there will be a lot of craft beer from UK craft brewers who produce cask conditioned beers, but not from the very small number of UK craft breweries who only produce keg beers. This is because it is a CAMRA festival and CAMRA was founded to promote British cask beers.

Thanks for that. I'm led to believe there is now a craft beer festival in the London. Shame really because a lot of people are missing out on great tasting beers from independent breweries.

I, too, have gone over to the dark side of craft ales, somewhat. My current two favourites are Peak Organic IPA and Goose Island IPA - Both are American; very hoppy and citrusy. I know you can get Goose Island from Tesco but I don't think Peak has made it over here just yet.
