Ah, what I meant was .......it will be ONLY art house cinema, as in, that will be the main attraction and they will not be showing the latest Hollywood blockbusters.

At least that is my understanding of it.

I think the cinema need some attention i went to see Fast 7 on Saturday it was in Cinema 1, i was told the toilets were not working and if you needed the toilet you had to use Cinema 3, it looks dirty and there is no Wheelchair access with is disgraceful.

Does anybody know what the age limit for a 'child' ticket at the cinema is?

Website doesn't seem to have the info and they don't like answering telephones apparently.

Always find it amazing how children suddenly become "adults" at 14 when it comes to entrance pricing. They aren't (legally) allowed to drink, smoke, drive a car or get married but are still expected to pay the same as an adult.

Enjoying a drop of red.

It's all part of the great heads-I-win-tales-you-lose philosophy employed in so many industries nowadays.

Stafford cinema is a dump it is so out dated and dirty, there is no disabled facilities not even a ramp, i emailed one of the CEOs and i never even got a reply, it is such a shame the old Odean was much better one screen and a double feature they were the days.

A lot of things never caught up with the 1944 Education Act wgich raised the leaving age to 15 from 1947 onwards, as for it going up to 16 in 1972 ...

TBF it probably has more to do with the BBFC classification system -
ie

- as arbitrary as it might seem.

Apologies for the totes inappropes setting for such a discussion btw - i just did a search then hit 'Post Reply' without really thinking it through.

I have no idea whether the cinema still has any jobs available, though it would shurely stand to reason that they would consider 15-year-olds old enough to work there?

I have a lot of history with that place however saying that we went to see a film a couple of years ago there were only five of us in there, anyway we waited and waited and the film didn't start, so oh went to reception came back and was told it would be starting in a couple of minutes, so we waited and waited...nothing so he went back again and returned saying come on we're going the projectionist hasn't turned up rang in sick, so I contacted odeon at the time who replied with an email saying that they had contacted the cinema and no such thing had happened, obviously staff we're covering for each other, after that I refuse to step foot in the place ...AND we didn't get our money back
