I tend to stay away from the police when doin anything illegal.
Generally good advice there. I'll try to remember that.

pick pocketing and purse snatching in the ford.... have you ever heard such a thing?
I am aware of several purse-shatches, mostly near supermarket entrances, and not for a couple of years or so now.

I used to work at sainsbury's and a few times the security clocked these unsavoury characters at work. Of course they stepped in and did whatever they could to sort it out.

Was about to post a very similar thing! I also worked at Stainsbury's and about twice a month you'd see an old lady being taken to the managers office to report a purse snatch. They always had them poking out of their shopping bags.
Once a security guard stopped me on the way in because I'd got my purse in my back pocket and told me to put it somewhere safer.

Nice to know that the Security Guards look after old ladies.

Another suggestion: Rowley Hall Hospital
Is this relevant to Florence's threat?
Yes.

I intend to creatively highlight scenes depicting the historical and industrial beauty of our town and to demonstrate that to find beauty you have to look no further than home.
Rowley Hall Hospital is steeped in History. Whilst currently being a private Hospital, it has in the past been various "occupations" including the Home for many naughty boys and girls of the town. It is a very beautiful old building, with well kept grounds to the rear.

Very good point, I will telephone them and see what the scope is for access, I can't imagine they will have a problem with it, may even view it as good publicity.

Quite, wasn't the RAF base in stafford considered a very likely target during WWII?
I have a print of a Luftwaffe reconnaisance photo of the North-West of the town taken on the first anniversary on the declaration of war. I often wonder if anybody even noticed him, as he must have been at a fair height. From the shadows it would appear to be about nine o'clock in the morning when it was taken. It shows the whole of the RAF, English Electric and as far as the railway station. The annotations are remarkably accurate, although some of the RAF site numbers are wrong, but that hardly matters. It is clear from the annotations that the RAF sites were the main objects of interest.

ignore gramaisc, he's trying to derail the thread.. he wasn't asking if your suggestion was relevant to the thread topic (completely the opposite, in fact)!
Could I just point out that I made two (failed) attempts to re-rail this thread when it had been so successfully derailed onto an anti-Lunar rant that it was removed to the anti-Lunar rant thread ( as detailed below ).

The old school opposite Zanzibar, as we must now call it, is worth a look - some odd architectural bits there, particularly the really pointy spire.
I seem to have completely failed to un-derail this!

The old Police Station would have made a nice photograph, but it's gone now.

I'm feeling a bit confused - I may just go and lie down.
I have had two failed attempts to initiate the reverse-loop ignition procedure, but no success so far. I was particularly proud of having involved the Police in the second attempt to try to introduce a pan-dimensional aspect.
I feel vindicated now.

Stafford Baptist Church, behind the old library, opposite the Island pub - mullioned windows and a very delicate, open-worked spire.

Note to self:- Spires seems to be a recurring feature. Look up the spelling of Freudian.

Have you seen the cherry tree by the octagon building in the old grammar school, at the junction of Newport Road and Friars' Terrace? Catch it before the wind blows it all away. It has been a good year for blossom, but that one is truly spectacular - and has an architectural backdrop as well.

I shall have a look at that tree this evening, it's actually a 5 minute stroll from my house!

Have taken 30 or so photos for this so far, i reckon will get lots done over the summer.

Nope not me. MyFingers are too large to operate the delicate buttons on the camera. Plus the technology both scares and confuses me.

That's me stealing someones soul.

But Shoes... these nice pictures you have off stafford. Why don't you zip up the 9 you are most proud of and send them to me? That would be a good idea I think.
