Saw them removing the sign the other day, so maybe they have a new home for it?
Web site says this...Saw them removing the sign the other day, so maybe they have a new home for it?
Their Facebook site suggests a reopening date of the 24th JuneCrystalline Cities is shut, had been for months, with a sign in the window stating it's temporarily closed for maintenance. Presumably it's gone out of business?
Hopefully, for their sake.Their Facebook site suggests a reopening date of the 24th June
That's very sad, my son was enjoying the kids d&d games thereAccording to Facebook, Geek Retreat has closed permanently, which is a real shame. Daughter and I loved our visits there.
There is nothing on their FB page. Does anyone know why they are closing?According to Facebook, Geek Retreat has closed permanently, which is a real shame. Daughter and I loved our visits there.
It did flood, but reopened - my guess would be the business model (I've seen the same thing happen with a lot of boardgame cafes) - loss of people spend a lot of time there, but not really paying thier way. If you sit there for hours playing D&D and you nurse a can of coke then it makes it hard to make a profit from people. If your audience is typically skewed younger, with less disposable income then you have that problem exhasperated.Always seemed quite busy , but I think there may have been issues with the building. Didn't it flood not long ago ?
It's the same as pub customers that make a pint last over an hour, and without the justification of being the driver.people spend a lot of time there, but not really paying thier way. People are entitled to drink at their own pace, irrespective of whether they are driving or not. It's the same as pub customers that make a pint last over an hour, and without the justification of being the driver.
Well that was the attraction of Wetherspoons last winter, a refillable coffee all day rather than putting the heating on at home.People are entitled to drink at their own pace, irrespective of whether they are driving or not.
