Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

Was there no clock outside Peter Rogers in those days?
The clock is much more recent than that, despite our "memories" of it being there for ever.

I think it's this century, I did ask in the shop one day, but I can't remember the specific answer. It may have been a 'millennium thing'.

Edit - I have found this message that I sent in November 2018, to someone who claimed that it had definitely been there for as long as she could remember, which could well be true, I suppose...

"According to the lad in Peter Roger's shop, the Mill Street clock came around four years ago - no more than five."

And this is the reason why it's there.

I'm moving back to the 70's in terms of haircuts. Haven't had one for 3 years. I figure when I took this pix a pint in the Nags probably cost about 50p .. or ten bob in old money. I have a deep suspicion that wont happen again. :heyhey:

Another one?

They might aswell call Stafford Town, Foodie town, you'll find a indian kebab chippy chinese pizza within walking around for 2 miniutes !

Only thing I'd be happy about if the prices started coming down because of the competition, even just a little but they never do.

Weird time to open too with Corona and it being summer.

I'd imagine living in a flat above any premises in MIll Street will have you drooling or locking windows! Mela Lounge, O-Kra and the take away further down!
I'd think the Mela Lounge and O-Kra kitchens must be feet apart rather than counting in yards, even if one is under ground!

Imotion gym when it reopens , will be now known as Elements.

Speaking of gyms, Stafford is to be treated to a new gym, Fuse , although , I'm unsure where this is located , any ideas ?

Did that gym near the new McDonald's ever get off the ground ?

That all looks exhausting, but I think @Gareth mentioned one of the units by the Odeon cinema had been picked up for fitness / leisure - maybe there?

I know the guy behind Fuse; it's going to be on Silkmore Lane. Not sure if he's announced exactly where so I won't spoil the surprise, but it's not likely to flood!

New McDonald’s as in Kingsmead or the one by PureGym? (Who can take a long walk off a short pier, as they cemented over the only other pool in Stafford)
