Lots of advice on Money Savinng Expert forums say to simply ignore the letters and they're very difficult to enforce anyway.

Truthfully, I don't see anything wrong with the 2 hour free parking ..... it's exactly what everyone has used/abused to pop into town for Stafford for a decade, lol.

Unless I have dropped into a coffee shop to do some reading or writing, I don't think I've ever had reason to spend over 2 hours in Stafford town centre. You can mooch around the town in under an hour easily, an hour for a bite to eat (just in case of delays in service) .... and still usually have 20-30 mins to pop into a supermarket and pick up some shopping if you feel guilty.

"No return within 4 hours"... so if you shop at Aldi* and forget something, you aren't allowed to nip back, park and get what you've forgotten without waiting half the day. That has always seemed like a stupid condition to me.
"No Return Within 4 Hours" is a bit draconian, but there has to be a "No Return" stipulation" otherwise they couldn't enforce the 1½ hour (in this case) limit.

2 hours free is more than fine on a car park close to the centre which you will find rare in most town centres.

As most say if you want to stay longer there are more than enough car parks in town and many who go into town for a mooch could do so in a couple of hours.

Plenty of parking in stafford, not sure what the moaning is for. People were saying not enough parking in town since north walls closed, yet the riverside car park opened with double the spaces that north walls ever had and has long stay which was limited at kingsmead.

Throw in Sainsburys which is always half empty, I am not sure what the issues are. Maybe it is that infamous Stafford moan one keeps hearing about lol.
