Rumours that jay z and beyonce are flying in for the opening have proved unfounded.

Not that they were ever going to cut the ribbon, they just need some cheap plastic storage crates for their bling.

It seems that the to let sign for monsoon has been taken down, hopefully someone moving in.

Looks like pizza express is having a refit, painters aplenty with chairs stacked up outside.

It had the floor levelled and the walls plastered a few weeks back, so hopefully something productive.

Maybe a suitable site for a sweet shoppe, say the kind that maybe up st mary's passage ? .....

The old new look site in town has been put up for auction now. The building isn't even that old, clearly the owners have lost confidence in finding a tenant so just want to give the problem to someone else.

Anyone buying it would probably view it as an investment/opportunity rather than taking on a problem, I would think.

because it's a franchise now, as opposed to a centrally owned store - so they have new contracts etc

Different people in charge, operating under a franchise (same as many of the Brum ones I think) - I think some of the existing staff have applied for jobs when it reopens

Might be older than we think, remember New Look been there at last since around 2000.

The upper floors might be an issue. Bar the short lived gym last year I am not sure there has been another occupant since it was built.
