Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

I've never been that keen on Lidl stores. Whenever I go in one I get the feeling I've wandered into a badly organised warehouse that's just suffered a mild Earthquake. I suppose that's just me because everybody else seems to luv em.

For me, it is vastly preferable to all the others - they hardly ever move stuff - just go in, get what you want and pay for it.

I don't want choice, I want what I came in for - now.

I do fear that the current excellent location might not be so convenient once the "road improvements" begin happening.

Exiting Madford at busier times has been an issue for many weeks now.

If they do move, I suspect that I will be lamenting the loss of shaded parking spaces.

I'm also a Lidl advocate, although the exiting has been a problem it's not put me off going in for the things I want...hope they are keeping the existing very helpful & friendly staff...

Personally I miss Snapes at the junction of Smallman St and Cambridge St. Across the road at the junction of John Street and Cambridge Street there was another shop called Browns, but that was only for rich Littleworth Kids.

I went into our Lidl yesterday, served by Alfie. He couldn't have been more disinterested in the job if you paid him. Passed my stuff thru the scanner beepy thingy, didn't even sling them down to me, left it all in a pile just to the side. Wasn't even a thank you after I paid.
Shit choice in flowers by the main door too.

If this is the start of your new novel I'm hooked

Sounds like a great storyline building

Another Lidl advocate, I like that it has everything on a smaller scale, and I tend to always go to Chris, as he's a friend I get a better greeting than at the other checkout people.

Reminds me of an Albert Einstein quote: (Albert has had a good week this week as he's been proven right yet again … :teef: )

"Only two things are infinite. The Universe and human stupidity .. and I'm not sure about the Universe."

God that brought back memories, buying a single woodbine or half a loaf of bread, Mrs Snape would sell anything, at a price that matched your pennies

You guys have put the kiss of death on me …. :heyhey:

This morning I wanted to buy some ready made salads !! Went into the mighty metropolis of Bude and visited Sainsburys, Morrisons and B & M but none available. So I risked life and limb and went into Lidls, even though it's clearly built on a major fracture zone in the Earth's crust judging by the setup.

I got my salads although I suffered time dilation effects in the checkout queue (with three items !!! they have six checkouts, never ever seen more than two manned. Both queues were like a scene from The Walking Dead.)

Still they came through where the others failed ….
