Brewbakers there in the late 90s , was a strange shop , selling everything, but nothing you kinda went in for , a little like Wilko.

We had a super small BHS 'home (or Christmas) store' at one point , remember going in it when I was little and it having really nice Christmas decorations for sale, but don't remember it lasting long, but think that was on the other side, somewhere near what was I guess, the original Yates , now butler's , or was it there, it was somewhere round that end of town anyway.

A quick Google search draws up a mention of a BHS Christmas store from 1996, so I'd have been ten at the time, if we had it then, anyone remember where it was ?

Back in January Home Bargains were looking to take over units 1b-1d which includes the old poundworld shop.

Yeah i think those empty shops will be Home Bargains and Poundland will be a bit further down.

They often have a queue out of the door at lunch time but my guess is they don't sell much past 3. They tend to open at 7 so I guess it stops them having to staff another shift.

If Brewbakers was the same site as the Butler's Bell End then it was a Yates when the site first became a pub then Apres then the Butler's Bell if I remember correctly.

Yes indeed, Yates's from 1999, Apres from 2005 and a Wetherspoons from 2012.

Apres was the best incarnation of the place tbh.

Yates was dire, and butler's has lost its spark.

Does this mean the European version of Demolition Man will get changed so the restaurant is Taco Bell not Pizza Hut? they changed it because they didn't think we would know what they were.
