Dont know why I am up so early today and why I ended up here?? What fantastic memories this thread has brought back. I am sure I will have some photo's of Switchgear days late 70's. Be afraid !!

Paul Bakewell , Dave Astle.
Few people were able to rock a boat quite so competently as Paul Bakewell could - I quizzed John Leah about his whereabouts outside Sainsbury's the other day.
I remember Paul needing a signature..

PB, Sign my shotgun certificate, will you?

MD, What? A shotgun certificate? How do I know that you won't go on the rampage?

PB, You don't - but I won't - and if I did, you would be the first to know...

Signed.

At the last Saracen's Head do, Dave Astle turned up completely co-incidentally, just for a meal with his wife - to be confronted by hordes of familiar faces as he came through the door - poor chap was convinced that he'd been set up for some sort of surprise party..

I'm not frightened - unless I have to go and sit in your car to listen to some weird cassette you've made...

Billy Hutch's lad was just having his bodily fluids removed at the Rangers...

I wonder if they test his for flux residue?

Harry Holland had a nice send-off and will, apparently, be going to Shell Island soon, for an eternal holiday.

Hopefully, they won't drive off the causeway this time, like he once did, trying to beat the tide...
