Round about 10 am certain members of the work force used take the paper to the toilet and pick the horses out , then fred from 16 shop would come round and take all the betting slips and put the bets on . First time I had ever backed a horse and won !

Standing in the gangway by the storage rack , hidden under the fold in the photo is Ken Beardmore. He is watching Joe (who is watching the photographer on the crane). Secconds later he shouts "Joe, Joe, stop looking at him and sweep the f****** floor". The date is about right.

Must have been a high-speed camera.
Never seen his name written before - one of those names that was just said - we always knew when it was the first day of spring - 'Sidro' would make a new cigarette holder from a piece of a stick that would last him for the whole year.
