Has anybody seen Ian Fraser lately? I've been looking out for him for a while - last I heard, he was living in Highfields.

Is Charlie Brown still about. Also what was the name of the Blind Chap the Cyril Bird used to bring in and take home think he used to work in the machine shop..

That was Phil Hill, all round nice guy and big Ella Fitzgerald fan. He married Mick Voss's sister Olive. He loved to get out for a pint or two and always made me laugh when he said if he wanted to get blind drunk he had a head start over the rest of us!

I've just been to see Taffy - he's back in Stafford now, the Stroke Unit off Ward 10. He's picking up, but there's a long way to go - not able to speak very well or get about on his own, but still pathologically cheerful, as ever - and able to look out the window of the RAF, which is why he ended up here in the first place.

I was informed yesterday that Gordon Sadler has left us - so, no more Hawkeye, although I suspect that he will have criticised the welding on the gates on the way in...

This is going back a little but does anyone remember the inspector Ron Lovegrove (I think that was his name)?
I remember as an apprentice, working under Taffy Price, I went into his little office and leaned on his surface plate with a very greasy hand. He damn near tore my arm off and beat me with the bloody stump.

As soon as you said his name I knew what you were going to say about him, he loved that lump of Swedish granite. He claimed to have especially dry skin, so he could touch it, but mere mortals did it at risk of death.

Wayne Aldritt - still about, lives in Stone, I think.

Terry Lees? - ended up as a foreman with Butch.

Andy's still there - it was Steve Walsh that was with him when the explosion occurred. A quite plausible series of events that took some understanding, even when you knew what had happened....

Vic has been instructed to be there at the piss-up on Friday, I'll try to remember to ask him.
