Chell Rd / Broadeye roundabout will be closed from 7pm - 6am starting tomorrow 8/4/24 -18/5/24

It was supposed to be closed for 1 solid week, untill they realised that the staff carpark is through the loading bay ....so now it's over a month & just at night đŸ¤¬

The Milford-Tixall road* may be closed, or at least difficult.

They seem to be putting traffic lights on the river bridge, at least, if not the canal bridge, as well.

* Holdiford Road.

I honestly never knew where Holdiford Road was until I started seeing signs, but then went out to Rugeley and realised how long the official diversion is! Wow! So you can't turn down the road at Milford so you get sent all the way into Stafford and then and then up Weston Road!

The Wolverhampton Road closure yesterday had me, as the only passenger on the bus to Brewood, going along West Way for the first time since the Staffordshire Yeoman was demolished.

If you’re parked on kingsmead car park I’d move your car from the bottom section, it’s filling up fast. Gone from a small section of water to most of the bottom section in less than 2 hours.

I made the mistake of driving on Lichfield road from island garage to Queensville earlier. Took 14 minutes to get from alongside Citroen garage to sSt Leonard’s Ave in bumper to bumper traffic. I was second car at St Leonard’s traffic lights, when they changed to green I dove to Queensville roundabout without stopping
I think the phasing of the multiple traffic lights along that section needs a serious looking at.

I'm sure you'll find that those lights are achieving precisely what Highways intended.

They've amended the lights at the island outside the Dr's surgery. theres now a 5 sec delay when boths sets are on red, presumably to allow the junction to clear and not get clogged.

Councillors will just say why weren't you cycling or walking. Seems to be their answer to everything. My reply would be why are the roads still only suitable for the traffic levels of about 20-30 years ago when there's been dozens of new housing estates since then.

The Taylor Wimpey public meeting to discuss the Beaconside road works is being held on 22nd May at 3.30pm to 6.30pm
Parkside School.
Please mark this in your diary. Letters are going out to residents however the last time ‘a letter’ went out only a few residents received it and some only a day before the event.
