How long will it be before someone gets knocked down trying to cross the road to Aldi? I was just thinking of how I would get there on my bike if I was cycling there on the way home and there's some traffic lights near the roundabout, but are people really going to walk 50 meters extra to use that?

I expect a new pedestrian crossing is imminent.

No lights! assume cones by weeping cross/wildwood are there for half marathon? roadworks only start on Mondays, so won't be until 21st if any are due, bus stop appears to be closed just opposite Baswich lane

Cones are due to a bloody great water leak somewhere.

Again!!!

However, it's an infinately better solution than lights, allowing the traffic to move reasonably freely in all directions.

Right bloody bodge jobs! Walking past the blokes doing the work on Radford Bridge the other week, both looking down into the hole, one was asking the other what to do now......I heard "Just bung some tarmac in"

Would be better to move the lights in that case, believe these were only put there to occasionally stop the flow of traffic from Radford so Silkmore Lane could move, .

Had to wait through seven cycles of the traffic lights to get out of North Walls onto Queensway this morning because of the roadworks by Pennycrofts Flats. Even when I did manage to get out, I completely blocked Queensway for a while. I'm not apologising for the blocking as if I hadn't done it, I would still be there waiting to get through the lights.

Don't forget to give credit to Severn Trent for bringing yet another part of town to a standstill.

I hear that runners are expected to get around Stafford on the Half Marathon faster than the motorised traffic most days. Another accomplishment for which I wish them good luck and will cheer them on.
