Don't worry, I'm sure the planners had all this worked out when they dug up (checks notes) every fecking junction nearby they could find.
You’re starting to sound like Stafford Stag

Highways , Gas, Electricity, Sewers, Cables , none have to plan as a group or a individually

They have a statutory right

How easy is it to return to the motorway southbound with the A449 closed at the Wolverhampton Road Surgery roundabout? Is traffic ignoring the No Through Road sign on the road opposite Couture and driving down there to return to the A449 past the closure? Is that a viable route? I notice there's a pleading sign on the middle of this roundabout saying "Traffic to use both lanes to ease congestion" but noone was the other day. As it is a bit awkward if you going around heading towards Tesco. Some youths undertook everyone the other day and then cut into the left hand lane so I suppose they were obeying the signage. I'm completely in the dark how you would rejoin the motorway with all these roads closed.
I thought it was closed to past the railway bridge so I don't think you can.

I've just got off a train and now need to attempt to get to Rising Brook

It is not - the road junction at the end of Austin Friars onto Wolverhampton Road is completely blocked off.
As you can see from the traffic cam, if you are coming into town along the Wolverhampton Road and cut down Park Street to get to the junction where the traffic cam is, you still have trouble getting out, as the traffic is now backed up along Newport Road to the Castlefields roundabout. People wanting to get to the M6 J13 from the north of town follow their satnavs and now come down the SWAR, have priority at Castlefields roundabout and then get through to Wolverhampton Road via West Way.

For some reason the shittyness of it all has extended to the northbound M6 exit at J14, traffic backing up in lane 1 southwards. Dangerous.

Gave up in the end, did a u turn and home via Rowley St. A quick walk to the co-op for provisions...
I got caught on the way home from work, took an hour to get from Rickerscote to Peel Terrace and in the end I parked up down there and walked the mile home. I shall retrieve the car tomorrow when some sanity has hopefully been restored.

It was much quicker walking into town than driving home.
