Stafford Traffic.

What Stafford needs is congestion charging. That'll solve the problem.
I'm all for it so long as they have proper segregated cycle paths and a decent bus service. The more advanced a nation the better these provisions are. England, apart from a few outliers, of which Stafford is most definitely not one, is a very backward place :(

Daughter left work yesterday at 4:30pm straight on to the M6 at junction 15 and got back to Stafford at 11:30pm. Highways should have closed junction 15 earlier and diverted traffic A34/A50 to head South, it seems the RAC and AA were busy with Cars overheating and flat batteries both ICE and EVs slowing progress.

Not sure the A34 could handle many more cars, Eccleshall road and Stone road were both backed up well past their respective roundabouts. Add in the Beaconside issues that restrict movement that way and the fact you can't leave town on the Wolverhampton road, and of course anyone trying to turn right at Halfords just blocks the traffic behind it making Stone road worse.

Took my brother half an hour longer than usual to get back from Eccleshall way, and thats on a motorbike!

Chaiwala!

On bicycles!

There’s nowhere for traffic to go so the only answer is…..
I mean, i was on the road on Monday, and i just got home at the same time i usually do.

There is an answer to this problem, but i'm not sure you want to hear it... again

In entirely unrelated news, here's the Bombay Bicycle Club...

Just so people know they've changed the last part of the Stafford half route to runners go down stone road to the McDonald's roundabout before joining the Isabel trail and then after the Isabel trail run on doxey road/tenterbanks before doing a loop around town.

Uuuggghhh. Does anyone know what time they will close the Stone Rd, I'm at work that day & live just off it..... 😔

don't mention the blinds
Hmmm thank you, but that shows the old route. They're now going straight down Stone Rd to Macdonald's ...
....then using the underpass to reach the isabel trail via nursery lane. Crossing doxey rd as usual thru Castletown to station road .....

So that means the diversion for traffic trying to get to the M6 from the north end is closed? A braincell, does anyone on the traffic section of the council have one?
