Staffordshire Place

Anything ever fallen off other buildings in Stafford through the years and deemed a waste of money, Shire Hall*, Eastgate House**, Ancient High House*** for example?

Questions, questions QUESTIONS, why, when there's so many brick built solid structurally sound buildings (built donkeys years ago!!) in Stafford, they had to build this in order to save us money?

Any one care to list county council/Stafford buildings built more than a couple of hundred years ago, that are still standing but put on the "unfit for purpose" list, or about to be?

*18th Century
**17th century
***16th century?

Looks like there are still more bits missing now - the big facing slabs, not just the stickyout things.

Used to see the Staffordshire place builders quite regularly and trust me they weren't from Lithuania or any part of Eastern Europe. We may have a better building if they had. Liverpool was there home unless my ears deceived me.

Generally if a building has problems then it'll be down to the design. People deride (or used to) Chinese made goods but when they are designed well and the manufacturing processes are sound they're not poor quality.

I suspect this was a rather silly radical design that went wrong. It looks to be using some sort of cladding, there are rails which stone effect cladding clips onto. Why they didn't just use stone or bricks? I suspect this design is marginally more efficient in terms of insulation or heat loss.

A good design would be easy to put together and reliable, you can design in features to make the construction less prone to failure.

You were using a persons race as something to deride them, something successful versus something unsuccessful and an assumption that the unsuccessful was down to someone's race. That's racism. Also as you were happy to chip in without any real need to, that's the casual part. Together they are casual racism.
Lithuania is a country not a race. A lithuanin company apparently built scaffoldshire place, the brackets that hold the cladding on were apparently put on upside down alongside a large list of other defects. I think my comment is perfectly reasonable and doesnt at all pertain to racism. There are so many goody two shoes muppets about who just cant wait to smoke out a racist or racism where there isnt any. A simple comment about anything or anybody who isnt white british is deemed as racism. Its pathetic.

Lithuania is a country not a race. .

Incorrect.

race 1
(rās)
n.
1. A group of people identified as distinct from other groups because of supposed physical or genetic traits shared by the group. Most biologists and anthropologists do not recognize raceas a biologically valid classification, in part because there is more genetic variation within groups than between them.
2. A group of people united or classified together on the basis of common history, nationality, or geographic distribution: the Celtic race.

Unless we're just going to start ignoring the dictionary now ?
