What it says on the tin, but......

....look at this

Every website I go to, however, is super slow. iPlayer refuses to work, at all.

Restarted everything a million and one times.

Any ideas?

Edit: Not so good in zimbabwe :P

I had the same trouble last night, but it cleared up at 9 30pm, and my speed tests were ridiculously high while it was slow on iplayer!

edit: just done some speed tests and reading 78, 85 on a 10 mb connection again, I haven't tried I player yet though

Yes virgin here too. again last night I player too slow to watch, when I did speed tests I got ridiculous speeds,
107 mb 80mb 95 mb amongst the normal 8, 9, 7, and I'm on a 10 mb connection,
then at 9.30 it settled down and I watched hill st blues with no problems.
This is 4 days in a row Ive had the same problem.

edit: Ive also noticed that my up load is at 1 mb all the time, have they changed that or is it part of the problem?

Had queries from 3 of my customers in Stafford who are all on Sky. Same again, speedtests reported fine yet simple things wouldn't work. Very very strange but they have all since reported everything okay again now.

Well it's started again
iplayer is stuttering and unwatchable, but 4od seems ok, and my speeds have become silly again, note this is a 10mb connection on virgin,
and is just one of many tests much more than 10mb, even though there some at the right speed.
I suspect that virgin are doing something but gods knows what or why.

Well, you could always pick the phone up and ask them. No-one on here has the answer.

Gave the computer a miss for most of the day as I was getting so frustrated with it,but it now seems to be working fine at the moment.
Been having trouble with Virgin TV a few times this week as well. Suddenly started saying that I wasn't able to get certain channels which I have in my package. After a quick phone call to them each time quoting the error message number it worked again....seems strange it's only happened this week when computer has been playing up.

I wasn't expecting an answer!

I was simply sympathizing and letting people know they are not alone with the problem,
its not worth getting in a strop about it, in fact i went back into iplayer and watched the first half with no problems, then it froze at the adverts,
I now suspect it may just be an iplayer problem and will update it tomorrow, and do a clean up.
I have typed all this while waiting for it to start but no luck, such is life .

edit: virgin state that "there are no problems in the st16 area," but then they always do,
and there are no problems during the daytime that I have noticed any way.

Are we there yet?
Yup, shoes & I are on the 10meg connection with Virgin n it's been dog awful for a week or two. It's quite common for me to hear him swearing at iPlayer on a nightly basis at the moment...

Is it mainly those with Virgin ISP that are suffering with this then?
