Took the family here tonight as a reward for the little one. Place was empty as we arrived at around 7pm. The little one had some bubble gum ice cream and we shared a Cookies and Cream waffle (which was rather large).

The staff were great and the food was lovely. The bubble gum ice cream was really good. We'll certainly go back again at some point although I do question their thoughts about opening until 11pm so soon after starting business (and during the winter). There was 4 members of staff in as we left looking after 5 customers !

Open until 11pm, expect that in the London but not a town and in the week at that. Look at my belles, smaller premises to fill but never anyone in at night.

I have visited sweet in the day a couple of saturdays back when it was quite rammed and agreed it was very nice and very well done out.

I had a meet up with some of my female friends there yesterday - I got there at 6 and we left at around 9:30 - it did get busier as the evening worn on. It was lovely (desserts were humongous and very tasty) but the music was at the right level to be able to chat - which was why were were meeting up - and we'll be back.

It was empty when I passed at 14:35 this afternoon, but then there weren't many in Verso either, so maybe that time of day isn't best.

Anyone know what happened to the Sweet Dessert shop near the council offices (opposite Verso Lounge)?.
Sign on the door says closed for refurbishment but it’s been like that for at least 6 months and there doesn’t seem to be anything happening. Also it hadn’t been there long and certainly didn’t look like it needed any refurb although interior has all be ripped out so not sure if there was a problem with the building?

Ok thanks Gareth, seen it now. Sounds like a simple case of business closing rather than refurb
