Suppose you are right it is all about what the punters want, bet anyone who took the Tape & Spile on would like to know what the punters want.

I wonder if they would listen to us and put on what we wanted?

In my experience they listen, they just don't act. Its not hard, I've offered the information to many a new establishment, but the fact remains none care and therefore none get my money. Thats why around 3/4 of my beer money ends up in the Greyhound, they cater to my tastes.

Unfortunately one place that did listen to me was the Pie and Ale house, and they still went under so what do I know? That said the Green Goblin I recommended was a strong seller for them, they often sold out on a busy night.

No food I'm afraid. They do pork pie and scotch eggs, and possibly pork scratchings.

I was once offered the chains pub for a pound a week rent , and I turned it down

£12000 per year rising to £22000
then the rates are £27500 payable £0.458 so you pay £12595
so far at the starting rent and rates = £24595
then Gas, Electric. Water to pay
say £100 per week each so before you have poured a pint your costs could be

£24595+ £15600

Near £40000 before you have pulled a pint
