Who do you think fixed the radar, the gyrocompass, the DF, the Satnav, the autopilot, the speed log, the Engineroom control and monitoring systems, the film projector (very important) ? … (and quite a lot more.) :P

I got a "Rebecca for Leader" video ad show up on my Facebook page this morning, apparently because I live in Stafford. She must be desperate.

    Go Lisa!!!

    I do actually.

The time will come when this government will run out of steam (like in 1997) or get the blame for some world event (like the Credit Crunch), and the Labour party will there waiting in the wings to take over the reins of power. From my point of view, I'd rather see Starmer or Nandy holding onto those reins than Corbyn heirs Long-Bailey and Burgon. (Though Burgon would provide some comedy value.)

ETA Thinking back to the summer, Boris would not have been my choice, but in the words of Terry Pratchett, WYGIWYGAINGW.

I'm sorry, but although I'm not a believer in Gods in general …. I just received this email … so now there's little doubt I now believe in the 'PissTake God.' All I can say is I've crawled in a lot of bilges, because … I never really had much to do with the Bilge Pumps themselves, more in the sensors that operated them. So, my desire to crawl through bilges at this stage in my life lies somewhere between being ate by a shark and spending four weeks in a dentist's chair.

Yet here I am getting a F****** Bilge Pump advert !!!

(I shit you not on this one believe me, I've kept the email to prove it … and for a laugh every day when the weather is bad.)

I've just had that offer, I think I'll stick to the gloves and mask, I wouldn't expect my social distancing radius to be breached to that extent...

Facebook tells me that a friend is 61 today and "lives in Derby".

He isn't 61 and he never will be - and he hasn't lived anywhere at all for several years.

I get one like that every year. Doesn't stop many friends posting messages and pictures of happier times.
