Especially of Tolstoy's War and Peace is onboard. That book is really heavy going. :P
When I asked the library if they could get that book in for me quickly, they told me it would be a long weight. :P:P

I'm being offered the opportunity to purchase a new Ford or Lincoln vehicle (as if I would) for delivery anywhere in the United States (which wouldn't be a great deal of use to me).

Also, although they don't spell it out very clearly, the offer would appear to be dependent upon me serving in some branch of the US military, something which I suspect there would be mutual difficulties about, even apart from the Covid-related logistical issues that I am currently subject to.

I got offered a 'Pilots Time Machine' from a seller I've dealt with before and so of course I went online in anticipation of winning the next ten lotteries and settling a few debts from yesteryear. :strange:

Imagine my disappointment when I saw this. Online it became a Pilots Time Machine Mug !!!!!

I still haven't figured out the 'Time Machine' bit ..... :?:

This leaflet came in the post yesterday. I have to say I had a good laugh. The army must be in a bad way if they're sending this to a 74 year old whose health appears to be going down the crapper.
Still ... you know ... I could drive a tank. I mean, you're meant to hit things in a tank aren't you ? :heyhey:

Surely with your experience the Navy would be more suitable, wouldn't it?

Difference between the Merchant Navy and the Royal Navy: in the Merchant Navy you're actually expected to go to sea.

Definition of a Royal Navy ship out of sight of the Isle of Wight: probably lost.

I worked with a chap who had been in the RN for three years, an extended National Service period. He had, even five and six decades later, that very distinctive 'Navy walk'.

One day, he revealed that he had, in all that time, been on ship only once, whilst it was tied up in Devonport.

He had never even been on a civilian ferry in his whole life.

Graf UK keep offering me 'water management solutions'. They have a case study on their website touting Kingsmead car park as one of their successful projects.
Oh well, if ever I fancy having a boating lake in my garden, I'll know where to go.
