Tesco - overcharging

Just a warning to anybody buying fruit & veg (or anything that has to be weighed at the checkout) at Tescos on the Newport Road near the station. I bought 2 bags of grapes and they tried to charge me over £12. When I went to Customer Service they said 'oh yeh, the girls are having trouble with the 'product keys' today'.

If you do get caught out don't forget they have to give you double the difference back. I was given back £13 but you have to prompt them and then put up with the sour faces and silent treatment they give you. Give me Asda's any day. (Only went to Tesco's as I like their cheese better than Asda's)

No, just double the difference. They've got it on the board behind them at customer service and I'd also seen it on their website somewhere the other day.

I am quite often over charged at the Co-op at Rising Brook. I work by there and I would have to say - more times than not - if I pick up their special offers it rarely scans at the lower price.

When I tell them ive been over charged I always get big massive sour faces - and it just makes me more indignant to hold out for the refund.

Yep, the Co-Op seem to specialise in this. The one in Lichfield is exactly the same, you have to check that offers go through at the correct price.

Always, and i mean always, check your receipt whilst walking out of the Co-Op.

Especially if you have bought something on special offer that you wouldn't otherwise have bought.

Another thing the Co-Op are particularly bad at is putting things that look like they are on offer, but aren't, next to things that actually are on offer - it has happened too many times to accept this is coincidental.

Co-op regularly fail to update their offers, by either failing to take the old ones off the shelves or to put the new ones on their system after covering the shelves with labels!
