Thanks, Theo.

I thought this might have been her chance to scurry off to another job.
As it's obvious that she's a career politician rather than somebody invested in the area, I just thought she could have conveniently popped off to a blue wall seat that isn't going to cave in next time round! I'm just hoping the other parties have relatable people in place so they can swamp them and change history. This town is so entrenched in blue rosettes it'll take a big effort to change things and we should not take it for granted.
Remember the hospital march? 50, 000 people can't be wro...... hold on!!

Poor old Theo ! First it was the deselection threat and now she might lose out to the Reds. Still, fortunately she can always fall back on her old day job, that of selling art to Russian oligarchs.

What’s that I hear you say . . . . . . ? Oh, . . . . I see . . . .

To be fair I share Theo's concerns about midwifery.....to a point. When my daughter was born 13 years ago she wasn't interested in breastfeeding. The nursing staff at the hospital (County) provided zero assistance and when we asked for bottled milk, we were made to feel like we were the worst people in the world.

My wife was at Stoke, they had bottled milk for you but very limited supplies and brands changed so I brought in our own.

Should somebody tell her it was her job to shout it from the rooftops that Stafford wanted a fully operational hospital and reinstated maternity department, while we even had a big march for it, before most of those people voted her party in?
You'd think she'd be thankful and use her position! Anybody suffering is bad, but imagine being in a position where you really feel it hard and you could have changed the situation for not only you, but thousands of others! The shame! And now she starts to campaign at a time when they are desperate for votes. Ye gods!!

With sunak promising to close 1/4 of refugee accommodation we're about to see exactly how safe the tories believe their place in Stafford is. Which I suspect is very, so if anything we'll get the overspill.

But then when you look at our not 24 hour A&E you have to wonder what Labour ever did for the town? Their foundation NHS trusts policy was what led to the Stafford hospital scandal. To get foundation trust status mid-staffs had to fire medical staff to get the finances under control.

If you think changing one incompetent party for another is going to fix things you're mistaken. And don't mention NHS waiting times under Labour, I know for a fact from seeing the NHS data myself (Company I worked for created an 18 week wait reporting solution) that NHS organisations got the waiting times down by giving the less serious cases some homoeopathy and acupuncture to "reset" their waiting time.
