The all day local Stafford Castle music festival 2011 - is it on? It is usually on at the end of the Shakespeare run and as I recall most people go to listen to music and get belted (mainly the latter), presume the cuts have got rid of this?

I have it in the diary as 10th July. Cant remember where I got the info from though - possibly SBC website.

EDIT - found it:

It's great that they hold events such as Live @ The Castle. But it seems such a waste on the part of SCC that they only charge £1 for admission when they could easily charge much more! Surely it's hardly worth while having someone collect the money for such a little amount?!

Actually it's a SBC event as is the whole of the Stafford Festival.

I think the point is to give Staffordians a good night out, not turn a massive profit. We pay enough council tax as it is. Besides, the drink sales will bring in quite a bit, and a bloody fortune if it's a hot day.

Cheers, glad that Live @ the castle is on, will not be off to see Elkie or Dennis myself though, they have not advertised these one off gigs very well at all IMO as it is the first time in a while(ever?) that (very soft) rock acts have appeared at the Castle in this way(one off shows). Bet the phones are ringing off the (dr) hook at the gatehouse!
2 white choc magnums and half a Feast please.

It will be on, without a doubt, the lineup is being sorted out soon and will be as eclectic as ever. Keep watching this space for updates.
