Watching the highlights it was striking that when taking Strauss's wicket, Johnson ran straight past Ponting, even though the fellow took the catch. Sour grapes at having been previously dropped? Even a near broken finger didn't seem to thaw the chill.

Interesting developments in the increasing televisual encroachment on umpire/referee decisions this series - with all the technology available to them there will still be disputed decisions. Hotspot is an interesting addition, not seen it before, but it does have its limitations.
Bell really should have been given out on 69 i thought - if the third umpire cannot give a definitive answer the umpire surely should have gone with his umpiring gut. Holy McFuck he played some fine shots though.
