Is it wrong that I never go near M&S? I've been in the new Stafford branch once. That was for a dress I needed for a wedding. Everything looked like it was meant for a teenager, of which I most certainly am not. So I just walked out.
I never went in M&S for food in Stafford , just used to go to their loos after walking to town.
Go in this retail park M&S foodhall here as it's only about a mile walk back , so I make the 2 retail parks towards end of my walking route , nip in Next or Dunelm to use their loos and a quick mooch around the shops en-route (Notice my walk is planned around loo stops
) and the eggs aren't heavy to carry back. I stand googling the price of veg and salad stuff elsewhere and sometimes that is the same price or cheaper for better looking stuff.
Got a Lidl and Sainsburys even closer to home over the road from there as well. I nip in them all on the way if going for a few bits and pieces , make a note of what are the better buys , and then shop for the best buys in each one on the way back.
As my gran used to say "Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves" and that's always stuck in my head.
