I don't listen to the neigh-sayers.
Or neigh slayers.
It'll soon be Christmas and time for the open one-neigh sleighers.
Not to mention the one sleigh neighers
Liver and Onions was on today, which is an obvious trump card and surpasses all other potential offerings.
I always have that with new potatoes, but some sort of crazy administrative mix-up produced a supplementary basket of chips, as well.
i was defeated, for the very first time in this location.
you always get a basket of chips with your sunday dinner as well
I've only ever been there on a Sunday once, some years ago now - I'm more of a fan of the quieter midweek scenario.
I went with the intention of the Braised Steak today, but the new presentation of Chicken Provençale needed recording.
The music seemed to be largely from the Poly canteen in the mid-70s.
I was some way into the Chicken with Red Wine Sauce, when I realised that it hadn't been recorded.
To be fair, I was also distracted by the arrival of a fuel delivery.
Mmm, I might sneak in a loaf and a toasting fork whilst things are still a bit chilly...
Is that a piece of coal or a burning toad on the left hand side?
Not sure, I only perused the Specials menu.
In the excitement of being offered a new item on the Specials Menu, some sort of chicken curry, I forgot to note what it was - possibly began with a K and seemed to be in a southern style, possibly Sri Lankan.
"Would you like anything else with it?"
"Whatever is lying about."
I thought it seemed a bit mild at first, but the effect was quite cumulative and it is certainly a worthy addition.
That was it.
That might explain why I was initially provided with two knives and no fork - to be used as chopsticks?
Well, I had a Late Breakfast today, or, as they officially term it, a Greyhound Grill - anyway, the real point is that there was a vegetarian option on the Specials Board - the first time that I've noticed such a thing - it was Cheese and Potato Pie, I think.
I nearly tried it, for surveillance purposes, but felt the need to progress as intended this time.
Maybe next time....
Did they whippet up for you?
And do they do half greyhound grills in case you're not that hungry?
There was another new item on the Specials board today - Chicken, Leek and Ham Pie - so I felt obliged to make an assessment.
A very substantial offering, ideal as the weather closes in for the winter...
However, the hanging baskets are still going strong.
Pie looks substantial.
I thought that and then saw the karaffe of gravy that comes with it as well
Oh no hang on, just realised that's not a karaffe it's @Gramaisc's Guinness
