I believe it will reopen in the next week or so....a couple from out of the area are taking it on.

I do hope the Star and Garter and the Joiners stay open otherwise the pub nativity crawl will be rather short this year in the absence of the Tavern and The Lamb ,,

Apparently the young couple who had been there for the last few months were on an 'at-will' tenancy, which (I think) means that they can turf you out if someone comes along offering more money! The same almost happened at The Railway Inn a few months ago, but the locals managed to overturn Punch's decision (David 1, Goliath 0).

Anyway, I was told that there is another tenant moving in soon. I've not been to The Lamb in a few years...can't stand the place! It is a shame to see it closed, though. It definitely serves a purpose for some.

Ive always liked the Lamb, nice bunch of regulars in the day and handy for the bus stops. I called in there on Friday night (most of the other pubs were full of the once a year drinking club) The new people seemed friendly enough and had a decent pint on, more ales to follow. Good luck to them.

Does it still stink of piss near the blokes toilets? Stopped going in years ago, but it had already been like that for quite a while then.

A lamb was always a family favourite years ago. I haven't been there for years now. It' too far to walk from my house and it' doesn't compete with the many brilliant pubs that I would have to walk passed to get there.

I wish it all the best. We need pubs like the lamb to remain.
