The Mews Cafe, opposite st Mary's Church, Stafford (also Gluten free and vegetarian options)

Called in to the new Mews Café, based opposite St Mary's church in Stafford. We thought it was lovely café with lovely décor. My other half had cheese and bacon stuffed oatcakes - and I tried the breakfast. Well worth it!

Just thought I would share the menu (as I know forumites like to see the menu's) - as I will definitely be going again. They have only been open about 4 weeks.

I noticed that they do Gluten free and vegetarian options - I know a friend of mine always struggles to find Gluten free.

Has it recently been taken over then? - my friend and I went for breakfast sometime last year and they looked terrified when she order a tea cake because the chef wasn't in...

The new owners took over about 4 weeks ago, so all new since you last went. We tried it out because we were passing - and its really lovely. I don't usually put on businesses on here but the new owners seemed to genuinely care about what they do. :bravo:

I will be going back at some point - they had some cakes and I resisted (and have been regretting it ever since lol)

More importantly, do they have black pudding and fried mushrooms? I can live without hash browns, at a push I will forego the fried bread, but it ain't a breakfast without BP and shrooms!

Gosh, you'd have to be terrifically impressed with a place to join a forum, make three posts about it in different threads and find no other subject of any interest at all.

It must be very good indeed.

I must try it.

Christmas dinner at The Mews Cafe this evening.
Considering how these things normally go, I was quite impressed with their Christmas Fare. Highly recommended.
Family run and friendly too.

Tried this place twice now in past 2 weeks. Food decent but customer service is terrible. I'm afraid we won't be going back.

If you're lactose intolerant you're a bit fooked though - all the veggie options have cheese in...
