The new Skill?

Can anyone update me as to the current status of The Cuffy?
I have recieved my first Cuffy, and am unsure as to whether I should celebrate or reach for the Prozac.

On a more serious note, has anyone noticed a more sinister tone to my posts since Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service took my bed away?

I am not making excuses, or aplogies for that matter, but The Venerable Mrs Seed reckons I am getting more and more like John Sweeeney everyday, and my mere presence in the room sends the Seedlings scurrying for cover.

I am not much for Harry Potter, but I am frightened to have my hair cut in case there is a face growing in the back of my head, (mind you it wouldn't be the first time I had been called a two-faced barsteward).

It will just be the end if I have to start wearing a turban.

*Apologies to those who have neither seen the films, nor read the books, this last paragraph must have seemed complete b****x Nothing unusual there then, Ed

don't listen to these naysayers who claim "cuffy is the new skill".. they are just trying to make up for their appalling stafford point score! ;)

lol i love the way you have invented this fictional "Editor".. or do you genuinely have an Editor who follows you round and proof reads your life? ;)

That means that Gon2seed must be none other than Harold Crick
Aaargh! They've nikced my life, and awarded to Harold Crick!

Ed is that little (or massive?) voice we all have chirping away, like a malevolent Jimeny Cricket. It was him wot kicked off at Rie, infact it's him wot does all the nasty stuff! I've tried cognative behavioral therapy, drugs, alcohol, etc', but he just gets louder... and what is this "invented fictional" nonesense, ED EXISTS! but only I can hear him...

"Give a little whistle"

I had a technical tip printed in the Spec Tec section.
And I never got that copy of Devastating Blow that I won in that competition...

There's a complete archive of it on http://www.worldofspectrum.org , in case you feel like a trip down gamer memory lane...

I just found my old 16k Spectrum the other day when clearing out some stuff - and o box of tapes full of crap games - I wonder if you could put them into MP3 and then play that back tothe Spectrum for easier access?

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: A look round the WoS site should provide all the info you need...
What crap games? There was no such thing as a crap game for the 16K Speccy!
Except Cassette 50, of course.

Slightly more recent (only slightly) I've still got an Amiga 500 up in my wardrobe
i remember buying my first amiga.. 500+.. it cost £325, which is a lot of money these days let alone 15 years ago! i got it from that little computer shop that used to be up that staircase immediately to the left of The Grapes..

one of my favourite games of all time is a game i had on the amiga called Creatures.. i have never been able to find anyone else who remembers it, let alone find a copy of it anywhere.. i'd love to play it again :(

I remember that shop! There used to be a few machines set up so you could play games too?

Wasn't it the same shop that eventually moved downstairs to where Guitar and Son was (next to the hairdressers.) I bought an Amiga 600 from there. I'm sure that it is/was the same guy that runs Discs and Disks now. (they briefly moved over the road to by the Sun, I think where Trevs cafe is now.)

Spectrum games - Bugaboo the flea, 3D ant attack and anything that involved printing obsenities on the screens in Dixons

Amiga - Donkey Kong, it was arcade perfect

My Spectrum game of choice was called Chaos. But only fellow Your Sinclair readers seem to know it, since it was (I think) the only game to appear on the covertape *twice*...
The Operation Thunderbolt conversion was quite good, tho...
