But then it's not like there's never been a situation like this.
There have often been situations just like this.
The War to End All Wars was preceded by a situation that thought it unimaginable that War! could be unleashed, exactly because it would be so destructive that it would lead to the downfall of civilisation itself.
And yet between then and now we've had two of them.
I can see that you are drifting into the arena of the unwell, but now 'they' genuinely have no hand to play.
There is no coming back from the 'threat' they have - they've pushed it too far. So it is no threat at all.
We must love one another or die.

I think it's fascism in your face right now. Trump is a third rate Mussolini. He is to Putin what Mussolini was to Hitler. Still, given we suddenly find ourselves back in an era of potential global conflict which we thought ended with the Cold War (so much for the f*****g Peace Bonus, not that I ever believed that) I think Private Fraser summed it all up.

Worlds greatest enemy, of the day, Montenegro. They seem to be upsetting 45 and Putin so much Trump is bashing NATO again. They are a 'very aggressive people who may cause WW3' according to the Great Wotsit on Fox. He seems convinced that they will pull an Article 5 and U.S citizens will have to go die for them.
He seems to have forgotten that the only time article 5 has been invoked is by the U.S in response to 9/11 when they led NATO forces into the mess that is Afghanistan.

He'll possibly just explain tomorrow that he meant the exact opposite to what he said - that seems to be acceptable behaviour now - along the lines of the 'unreserved apology' in the UK which lets you just do the same thing again.

Is there any evidence, after eighteen months of this, that there is any significant change of mind in those that voted for him?
In two year's time, we'll be looking at him being re-elected.
