Great offer on tonight. Drink 10 pints of stout, get one free!
That can't be right, can it? Licensing laws prohibit the promotion of binge drinking. I went on a course about it and everything. Is this a joke and I'm being really thick?
If it's any consolation i fought i was as fick as thee - drink resposiblee, what?
Edit edit: guess the edit?

That's what the blackboard in the bar said!
I too thought there wouldn't be many takers. But who knows?

Went to a 40th birthday 'do' at The Sun on Saturday evening, really good buffet laid on. The upstairs room was just the job for the numbers involved. Well worthy of consideration for anyone with a birthday coming up.

After asking the question, I went myself last night.

It is very good and has been woefully under-advertised. There's a marquee in the car park, live music, a barbecue and, most importantly, around 30 beers to try. It's on till Monday.

I once met him out walking the dog by the canal - it was his birthday - and the kids had dyed the dog pink..

We went during the afternoon/early evening and really enjoyed it. 36 beers (I'm not sure how many I managed but it certainly wasn't anywhere near as many as I'd intended!), chunky burgers and veg skewers and generally really well set up.

I agree about the lack of advertising; some friends of mine just happened to turn up, but even when they were in the bar they didn't realise the festival was on so they walked into the garden with pints of £3.60 Peroni!

Is it just me, or is it going downhill? Cider selection is rather reduced (and definitely at the lower price point), half the tables are reserved so you have to stand up in a half empty bar, the atmosphere really seems to have changed lately. I still like the place, but the pint in just had in joxers was better.

I think you are correct. never had a bad pint there but never had a brilliant one.

We went there for Dinner for my Husband's birthday last night and it was lovely - but wewere the only people in the restaraunt - a real shame when you saw how busy Bella Italia was :ohno: (We've always had iffy service and dissapointing food there - last time we went they'd ran out of Pizzas! .
Dragging this one up from the depths - did a search for threads titled The Sun Inn and this is the only one that came up...

Have eaten here twice in the last month, once on a Saturday lunch and once on a Sunday late lunch. Both times it has been quiet, the Saturday a few others in but yesterday very, very few people in still... such a shame as we have had excellent meals both times.

Both times we have eaten off their light lunch menu - £5 for a meal that is perfectly filling. The Chrizzo Chicken the first time was lovely, the Ham, Egg & Chips yesterday was delicious everyone else we were with both times enjoyed their meals likewise.

Really hope this place doesn't go the way of the Pie & Ale.
