How many nights a week can the musos of the forum fill with open mike nights? :)

Tuesday: Waggon and Horses, I think taitou and I will be there tonight if anyone's coming down...
Thursday: Joxer Brady's.

Anyone know of any more still regularly running?

I've heard there is, but i'm not sure about what day/time.. All these jam nights at least mean you could play the same couple of songs and the audience wouldn't notice :D hehe I still plan to learn more tunes though, it's just that Thursday seems to come around too quickly..

I believe the star and garter is sunday afternoons, run by our very own Steel-Spirit.

@taitou: I'm reminded of the joke definition of the difference between a professional and an amateur; a professional plays the same songs for different audiences, while an amateur plays different songs for the same audience... :)

The grapes do have one still, but it's rarely audience participation.. They tend to have a set group of people who play each time and it's hard to get up there if you're new. That's the impression I have anyhow..

Many years ago teh Grapes used to do a fine Sunday afternoon jam sesh for all. there was a resident band (who becme known as 2 black eyes) to get things going but anyone could get up and I even did. In the evening all the pros got together and did there thing - which seems to now be the Thurrsday night gig.

There's still the regular one at The Island on a Monday night. Always good for a laugh and goes on way past when it oughta.

End of the night can turn into an entertaining round of @lets play with the reverb effects on the mic'

Check it out...seriously!

Wookie - did you mention a jam night at the Wagon and Horses?
Yeah, but I think it's on shaky ground at the moment. Steel Spirit and Dr Elliot Moog know more about it than I, I think...

Is The Island closed again? Will it ever rise to its former Malt and Hops glory ... or even its legendary Dirty Duck days ? .... my first in town drink was in there !!
