The way you register to vote is changing ?

I had a letter demanding I register by 29th August - filling in all of my details including NI number, inside leg measurement, hat size and so on, whilst Mrs Henryscat had a letter saying "you don't have to do anything"!!
Mmmm, "you don't have to do anything"?

It might be worth her reading that again. You might not have to do anything, but, if you don't, then you will end up on the Open Register, whatever your previous preference was....

..that's how I understand it..

Just checked the letter, it says "...you have been automatically re-registered under the new system.... Your details are not on the open register. To be added to the open register please contact us".

So I think that's alreet :)

You all may wish to contact your GP surgery and ask to be removed from the two lists that.. Of course will never be sold to any private company my arse
Our GP wants us to register for some online system and requires me to in there with proof of ID in triplicate or some such, yet apparently they don't seem concerned about if I'm me when I go in to book appointments or get repeat prescriptions...

Fair enough, mine contained the "you don't have to do anything" phrase, but, hidden further down was an admission that I had to re-register in order to avoid automatic inclusion on the Open Register, been waiting a fortnight for 'my local authority' to contact me confirming that the details have been registered, as I was told that they would - all seems a bit farcical to me.

Money is a far more serious matter than your mere health.

Your removal won't happen until December? So please divert all calls to 619271

Mine had "You have been automatically re-registered under the new system" at the top, "Your details are not on the open register. To be added to the open register please contact us" in large, bold letters near the bottom and "Your name and address will be included in the open register unless you ask for them to be removed" hidden somewhere between the two.
