This might be a daft question, but

are there any listings websites which have details of every event going on in the town, such as gigs and pub / club nights?

In time, hopefully that place will be here :)

There is an Out & About sub-forum for precisely that sort of thing. All we need is for people to realise this place exists, then start putting their own notices up there. :D

When people grant you skill (bottom left on posts) you get a point. Will happen if someone likes/appreciates one of your posts. Can be taken away with the cuffy, at least that how Ive always presumed it works.

Think you will just have to trawl the web.

points are awarded for dedication and action above and beyond the call of duty. My lowly number attained thus far are due to me undertaking dicey and perhaps dangerous missions in order to glean information that is pertinent to forummers.....

here is another daft question what and how do you get stafford points
My my, shazbo, you are bringing back some really old threads! This must have been one of the first threads ever on Stafford Forum, from back when it was started in 2006. Doesn't time fly? :)

Rikki explained it perfectly. There is also some more information to be found in the Stafford Points thread.

Glad to see you're poking around the older topics here on The Forum and breathing new life into them! :D

Well on the subject of points, yet again i seem to have lost out. Now in all reasonable fairness i dunna mind too much, however if a deduction takes place surely it is only good manners to explain why. As it happens i have the most amazing story to divulge regarding a crazy incident in Thorntons (the chocolatier)it can only be described as 'Easter Madness' .....

Indeed, well i thought i would avoid the weekend rush and buy my choccy presents early in the week. So there i was in Thorntons and the queue is about six or seven deep, some folk were having messages/names etc iced onto their eggs this as you can imagine caused a bit of a delay. This was fine for me as i'm never in a hurry when there is 'people watching' to be enjoyed and i most certainly was not disappointed....A young lady at the head of the queue was in dispute with the girl who was writing on the eggs in seemed to be over the spelling of a name, which can you believe was 'Tom' the young lady said it looked like 'Tam' and started to show it to the gentleman next to her, he sensibly foresaw that the young lady was getting agitated and mumbled some excuse and exited the shop. She started to approach another customer to get a second opinion again they did not want to get involved and returned to browsing the shelves.....I was left with no option i had to intervene, i asked if the young chap in the buggie was to be the the recipient of the egg? this she confirmed, so i pointed out that as he was barely a year or two old he would be unable to read it anyway. Well the tirade of abuse that i received was shocking and i'm not going to repeat it all however a few of the choice words were; 'dogs breath', 'shit-face', 'nob head', and to my surprise she also called me 'four-eyes', which i didn't think was used as an insult anymore...The eldest of the girls behind the counter asked her to leave the shop and she could take the egg with her (free f charge) i suggested that the young lady was after that all along and that her concern over the legibility was a scam devised to get her an egg buckshee. Yet more filthy abuse came my way as she exited the shop, the staff were most supportive and thanked me for trying to help in what was a tricky situation......

Good point, no i was not offered any and probably if i was i would of declined any. To accept any reward would have been mercenary and i tend to be a bit old-fashioned.... Besides that some would of thought i was part of the scam it's just the sort of thing one sees on 'The Real Hustle'.....
