Thousands of emails showing on iPhone

I have suddenly discovered 4500 emails on my I phone how can I get rid of all of them. !!!

Have you tried deleting them?

Obviously not one at a time, but there must be some sort of multi select option, even on an iPhone, surely.

it's a known problem, and there isn't a solution via the iphone, i don't think:

apparently you can sort it by logging-on to your email with a computer, and properly deleting them there:

or you could just go into Settings > Notifications and turn off "Badge Icon", so the number is no longer shown..
