Just God moving the furniture.
That's what I was told as a child and I've always loved storms. Unfortunately the same can't be said for one of my spaniels. We have been taking it in turns sitting with her since the storm began. It has been a long night.

Been awake since five - I don't mind thunder and lightning - it was the alarm that was going off constantly.

It's still going off now - Take note if you live in the Fairmead area of Wildwood. I ay 'appy!!!

Hope she's ok now - I remember from experience with my Nans dog years ago how much it can affect them :(

Gotta admit, I do like a good storm...watching the lightning is stunning........but when it starts at the butt crack of dawn.....then having to drive through the thing to Coventry.....not funny....the M6 was practically a river!

Been going since 4:30am here, I ended up watching it till it took a short break as next door but ones dog, who is kept in a pen outside 363 days of the year, was barking and howling as he doesn't like it. I really do mean kept in a pen, they never ever let him out apart from about 2 days a year when they seem to fetch him in. He doesn't go for walks and apart from feeding him and once a week shovelling his shit out they don't go near him. Don't see the point in having him, poor thing.
Anyway....the storm lol Still going here now. In fact WOW!!!! A huge and I mean huge BANG just had me jump out my seat. Either it's the storm or they just blew up the Mosque again.
Bloody Hell! The house just shook with that one! Celestial mortar fire! Take cover! lol

Maybe you should be reporting nextdoor to the RSPCA. There's a dog near to me who is often out in all weather's all day long and constantly whines. If i ever work out where he lives I will be straight on the phone. Some people don't deserve pets :(

Strangely my dog, who enjoys barking at the slightest noise normally, has slept through it all. As has my husband. Me and the cat have been wide awake! :-!

Our cats, one under the duvet, after the last huge clap of thunder, the other has taken refuge in the laundry basket!!!

Our greyhounds couldn't care less, the worst reaction I have had from them was kicking them out into the rain at half seven this morning. They seem completely unphased by the thunder and lightning.

You have a strong case for animal neglect there Gadget, I think it would be kind to the dog to report them to the RSPCA.

I cannot understand how people can take on animals and they just do that - we strive to take our dogs everywhere, we want to spend as much time with them as possible.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
This was my 15 week old puppy's first experience of a thunder and lightning storm and... he never made a sound! The older Schnauzer just snored through it like normal, pretty much like me.

Our 90%-of-the-time indoor cat decided that last night was the night he would disappear outside late evening and not come back in. Thankfully he turned up about 10 minutes ago soaked through and very hungry.

May yet do that, it's a completely alien concept to me to do that with a dog, our pooch is rarely further away than a fuss when we are in the house.
Rain?! How dreadful! Dogs melt in rain don't you know. Well according to most of my dogs that is pmsl.

My parents old dog used to be scared of it as my petrified mum would grab him and sit under the table with him during storms, so he naturally thought it was something to be scared of. Our dog used to love fireworks anyway, so she used to run to the windows all excited in Thunder & Lightening storms. She didn't like the rain though. She'd take one look outside and look as if to say "If you think I'm going out in that.......... :ohno: "
I was woken by the rain pelting against the window at 3.35am and was watching the storm from 5.30am onwards. Our house on Wildwood shook a couple of times .
Had to wade my way to the doctors in it this morning, hoping not to get struck, clutching my big golfing brolly and ankle deep in a couple of places.(Was hoping the doc didn't say to take my shoes off and hop on the bed, I could feel all the sludge inside my soaking wet shoes) Though I'm not usually that scared of the storms it shook me up a few times this morning.

Hubby got to work to find his warehouse on Astonfields flooded.

I think I slept through most of it, girlfriend woke me up to point it out and I think I just grumbled and turned over. :p

Normally I like to watch a good storm but I much prefer to sleep. Also damn thing knocked our bird feeder over. -_-
