You are of course write Benllech, but it is for those with plenty of wonga. http://www.trentham-monkey-forest.com/information.php?id_cat=1&id_sub_cat=7 and time in order to get your value. Petrol! drinks! grub! gifts! Take your own food & drink, (consume it outside, or the monkeys (Ape's!) will nick it!) Wander slowly around, then go back to the best bits. take ya time, you'll need the grub! Avoid going in to Trentham Gardens if you are on a budget, as there are loads of shops, over keen to divest you of your hard earned gains!

No prohblem there Gon2seed. I live just three miles away and we ate before we set out. We went in mid week so it was quiet and when we had seen enough we visited the cafe for a snack. (Not a monkey in sight to steal our food)

I enjoyed the visit when I went last year - but I wouldn't be rushing back unless we were really struggling for something to do for the day (which is original reason we visited in the first place!)

I agree with the comments here. Enjoyed it very much the first time we ever went (there were some young monkeys only a few weeks old at the time) and it was quite enjoyable watching them hurl eachother down the tall banks. However we've been again since and didn't enjoy it at all. I think it's definitely a one-off experience that although is enjoyable, most people wouldn't want to go again.

Do you know, the more I think of what you have said, I believe it is a one off experience. Having said that, if my Grandchildren want to go again, guess who will be back at the monkey forest. :monkeydance:

Its nice to go with people who haven't been before as its something local and a little different. We have friends and family from the south and we have been a number of times with different family/friends and all really enjoyed it.
Family days out can be an expensive pleasure, in general but think this fairly good value in comparison to others.
Glad you enjoyed it though.

How to have a wonderful day.......
Wait for a decent weather forecast.
Pack a picnic.
Go with an open mind

Park car, walk in, enjoy the lovely nature walk......the monkeys are lovely.
Spend an hour or so wandering round.

Go and find nice spot, eat picnic.

Walk up to the Sutherland Statue which you can see from the road.

Move over to Trentham and walk round th lake.

Ignore miserable gits on here.

We went one Autumn Half Term, and I was bitten to death, no not the Monkeys, midges from the Pine Trees. Not been since, the Monkeys are very cute but the entrance fees are high.
