Tunes that remind you of other tunes..

what tunes sound like/remind you of other tunes? an obvious one to start with:

"No Good Advice" by Girls Aloud blatantly sounds like "Mickey" by Toni Basil :v:

and for any drum n bass fools in the house, "Squash" by Total Science always makes me think of "Guaglione" (that Perez Prado tune off the Guinness adverts)..

wait, i've just realised that this thread is begging for loads of "Every time i hear [insert_band_you_hate] it reminds me of the sound a baby makes when having broken glass rubbed into its eyes AMIRITE???!!11 :v: "

let's try and keep that to a minimum, eh? :teef:

EVERYTHING sounds like 'Mickey' I swear to God, or at least 1 in 4 tracks. It's that standard beat.

Dun-di-dun HEY MICKEY, dun-di-dun HEY MICKEY dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun, Hey Mickey what a pity you don't understand, you take me by the heart when you take me by the hand, ... etc.

Everything else sounds like 'Video killed the radio star' to me. There's something wrong with me.

For some reason anything by Razorlight reminds me of Deacon Blue.
I think their singer tries to sound like David Byrne, either that or he just does, but i suspect i'm right with my first assumption.

DRUM

A few posts under my belt
Papa Roach's Last Resort sounds like iron Maiden's Ghengis Khan. Oh, yeah, it's because they stole the riff.

Nine Inch Nails' Closer (Precurser) sounds like the Unicron theme for Transformers the Movie.

I've just realised that Pharrell's Williams' 'Can I have it Like That' reminds me of 'The Immigrant Song' by Led Zeppelin.

There are only seven notes in the Western musical scale - it's just how you use em.

Everything that Oasis have recorded in the last 18 years sounds like a trashy plodding copy of the Beatles 64-66 era.

Ditto Beady Eye and Noel Gallagher!

On a more traditional note (sorry!!) "Ashokan Farewell" by Jay Ungar

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vN_ZKB_Hdbo&feature=related

and the traditional Irish tune "Maggie".

Can't help but feel that there were some memories there.
