It's why I itallicised the word "centre" in my post. Although places like Highfields, Parkside, Doxey, Holmcroft etc are referred to as being in Stafford, they're not actually part of Staffords town centre. The CENTRE refers to the area of Stafford known as CASTLETOWN!!!

Just before entering Stafford on the A34 from Stone way, there's a sign at the roundabout saying "Welcome to Cresswell, the gateway to Stafford" upon which Parkside is 150 metres further along the road.
Another 1/2 mile down the Stone Road, there is a sign which says "Stafford 2" stating that Parkside is 2 miles from Stafford. Does this mean I live in Cresswell? :)

do you know what i found out today? Dave Mustaine, of Megadeth fame, used to be a jehovah's witness..

how did i find this out? the new guy at work is a jehovah's witness.. his belief system is weird at best, and contradictory at worst lol..

When I worked at Burton on Trent Fire Station we actually had two JW's firefighters. Both smashing fellas who did not push their religion at work, which was just as well, because I found their beliefs a bit hard to discuss, on account of me finding them ... no I'm going to bite my tongue .. this is the new tolerant me!

And while on tolerance, these were two very tolerant men, because as you can imagine a fire station is the scene of its fair share of irreligious banter, profanity, sexism, etc' and these blokes never turned a hair. Never heard them swear either, which again was weird, but admirable (sign of a lack of imagination my old fella always said...swearing, not, not swearng!)!

[Python voice type thing] You lucky bastard! [/python voice type thing] I've been rebuilding the inside of my house for 3 years and it's still a long way off finished. Just starting to make an impact on the new bathroom but the weather is far too nice to be working indoors. I only know i'm progressing 'cos I've not got to knock down any more walls (and that was my favourite bit!) Stil got to paint al the new windows too this summer.

It's been 2 years for me Doctor but I'm sure I've aged 10. Our house hadn't been touched in 50 years, there wasn't even a kitchen just a sink and a pantry. We couldn't even flush the loo or use any taps as all the pipes were rotten and would discharge all sorts of pleasant stuff. I too have to paint all of the windows this summer....really looking forward to that.

Plan for next year: have a fooking holiday as I've not had one for 2 years or even just week off pottering around doind sweet FA......so completely emphathise with your plight.

i'm just watching Seed Of Chucky on itv4, which inspired me to :google: jennifer tilly (:heyhey:).. i didn't realise she was half chinese! now i know, though, i can blatantly see it..
