Does anyone know why folk with big bags, tents etc were being made to go through the park,
back up the Newport Road and then back down towards the station they had left 15 minutes
earlier to catch a bus.

Only if you were catching a National Express bus....Other companies were operating theirs from the station side of the road!

I believe Staffords House of Bread were collecting tents this year too, which is slightly closer to home All good causes.

In my day you couldn't afford to do that, I used the same tent for 5 years of festivals and only scrapped it when the leaking got a bit too much! Its mad nowadays, close to £200 just for a ticket then £5 for a beer and more for a burger, then they leave half their kit at the end despite it looking brand new.
