Hi folks, having been a member of this forum for some time now I thought I would introduce myself as being the new manager of the Vidal Lounge, officially from the 2ND of May.

I have some great plans for the place and hopefully will make this into a cool place to be. I have previously worked at The Bankhouse before it was more recently taken over. I will be looking to venture down the same route with regards to food and coffees in the daytimes, once the evenings events are more consistent.

I have read all of the previous feedback on here and would be interested to know your thoughts, the more positive the better :) Unfortunately the tinted glass will be staying for now as its reinforced and too costly to replace. As I have mentioned your feedback has been noted and is appreciated.

There are a series of events to cater for all tastes this week, and I plan to hold lots more in the near future.

Thursday will be a rock night, Friday a funk night, and Saturday there is a record label Launch, all can be seen in the events list on here.

It might be worth letting folks know what fluids you can supply. People were whinging that it was all a bit lagery before..

Could do with a real coke/lemonade/etc tap at this point, I'd have thought pouring from the 2l bottles was a temporary measure while the place gets off the ground. Towards the end of the bottle the drinks are pretty flat

Fun to see the bottle of coke is cheaper than the drink I'm buying too :P

I wasn't so happy when I walked in on Thursday because the DJ was playing the same screaming as usual, but by the end of the night the DJ had left and the bar was playing Guns n Roses and Faith No More. My little corner of the bar was very happy to hear songs we knew :)

Ok, update on the draft Coke thing, unfortunately they won't put this in unless they can be guaranteed a certain volume of sale, the alternative is the small cans which don't go down well and work out more expensive to buy, plus you're then limited to a tiny can when we can free pour from a bottle.

The last rock night was tough going for several reasons, but will be turned into a more varied style of rock and alternative music over the coming Weeks.

All things are being looked at, but please be aware that i'm working a full time job for the next month alongside managing Vidal Lounge. Its a big task but I think Stafford needs an alternative place to chill, or party, than the usual places. The feedback so far had been great :)

Control of Vidal Lounge has been passed over to the Bird in Hand owners, and will now only open on Thursday nights.

Walking past Vidal Lounge today, spotted a repossession notice on behalf of the landlord dated 19/05 on the door.
