'Visual Illusions' at the Shire Hall Gallery

This is a really good exhibition, well done to those who put it together.
There are some great little 'hands on' exhibits so i think kids will love it. It's worth popping in for the magic growing rabbit alone!

Sorry about that. I did have a quick squizz before posting but found i none: pre-sign-up-new-post-flagging may have contributed. Apologies again.
T'is very good though isn't it? I find myself itching to see it again. One of the installations was broken when i went; an exhibit that you have to pedal to see the effect on a screen in front of you continues to intrigue me.

Apologies are not necessary. Ignore anything that I post after midnight, especially on Tuesdays and Sundays. I may have had some of the finest wine known to humanity - or just a load of Guinness.

It's on for a few weeks yet, they might fix it before the end.

I always think the Shire Hall is underrated and does a great job of bringing art 'to the people' as it were. I actively try and encourage people to visit especially when there is an interactive exhibition such as this but I think folks tend to expect something arty and highbrow.
If more people made the effort to visit just once I am sure they would become regular visitors as the exhibitions change.

i like the shirehall a lot...its a massive improvement from the old gallery which used to be upstairs of the main library at the green.

that was a boring space that didnt inspire at all, but the shirehall is an impressive use of fabulous old architecture and such an easy to access location, there can never be an excuse not to go.

oh, and dont forget to visit the cafe and shop after a gander round the exhibitions ;)

I think you will find, Mr Fawlty, that Doh! is the catchphrase of a Mr Homer Simpson, the character on a popular animated television sitcom, and not the catchphrase of a hotelier from Torquay.

I would appreciate it if you request permission to use the word 'Doh!' from myself in the future.

Yours sincerely,

The pedal driven exhibit was still broken today (or should that be yesterday? No i'm sure it was today) and unfortunately most of the 'hands on' tings have been removed - apparently they were there for School visits last week ( or was that last year? I remain in a state of confusion).
The magic growing rabbit is thankfully still there.
