How many of you on the forum do voluntary work and how many of you are considering it
Having been made redundant due to Staffordshire County Council funding cuts, I now find myself trying to make a decision on whether look for another job or retire early.
I have taken two very different voluntary posts, it’s good to be doing something with my time but i'm still not sure what i want to do with my future.
I still keep looking for a paid job but i only want to work one day a week, I want a job with no senior management, no pressure, no bitching, no stress, no tension and no futile goals.
I found this https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/2014...-your-job-10-positive-and-10-negative-factors, i'm hoping it will help me decide.
What makes people happy with their job? (In order of importance)

Feeling that your contribution truly makes a difference
Being part of a successful team
Recognition of your achievements
Good pay
What makes people unhappy with their job? (In order of importance)
Insufficient communication on the part of the management
Wages too low
Little or no recognition for achievements
Poor management
Not enough freedom for personal development
No attention paid to new ideas
Too few opportunities for high performers
Lack of fringe benefits
Work is no fun
Feeling that your contribution doesn’t really matter
