Waitrose in Stone

Did someone on here mention this recently? Or was it a dream?
Heard this morning of new Waitrose possibly somewhere between Aldi and The Brooms .

I ♥ cryptic crosswords
I dreamt Jenny Agutter had moved in next door and wanted to borrow a cup of sugar

I bought some brown stuff just in case..

Your comment made me laugh John Marwood, very funny. I can't imagine Waitrose opening up in Stone, bit like Harrods going to Hanley!

They acquired a few ex-Safeways stores from Morrissons, try the one in Lichfield -

Actually the Lichfield one is quite old now, they are building/renovating stores to new "stores for the future" standard which are clearly intended to compete in a big way with Tescos & Sainsburys. The ones I've seen are significantly better than Tescos

The Lichfield Waitrose was purpose built for the housing estate there, it was never a Safeway :)

Didn't mean to suggest it was, I was trying to compare the probably Safeways built Sutton Coldfielsone with the Waitrose built Lichfield one.

..and probably cheaper. I wonder if I'm the only person who thinks Tesco is a right royal rip-off? It makes me smile to see the sheep filing into and out of Tesco. They are so loyal. That Clubcard thing really has some pulling power!

This post is a clear example of the old adage, 'don't post on the forum after imbibing Slater's Emperor IPA'. It is total nonsense and should have read something like -
1. The Sutton Coldfield Waitrose is probably ex-Safeways, compare it with the purpose built Waitrose in Lichfield.
2. Morrisons, not Waitrose, are upping the ante with their 'stores for the future'
Apologies for the confusion.

(note: Emperor IPA is 7% abv and comes in 1 litre bottles)

Enjoying a drop of red.
