We recently used Paul Pickard and although not the cheapest he's got to be the best in the area, When i dropped his name with some of the other photographers we touted they generally stated that they could beat him on price but on quality......

We used Phil Gallimore of Click Photography and thought his service was great but we did get married 7 years ago so I've no idea what things are like now

My uni friend is now a wedding photographer covering the midlands I believe. I've had a photoshoot with her before and it was really fun and I was really happy with the pictures. #mce_temp_url# is their website - silverstar photographic - I cant comment on their wedding photography or prices but I like their style

It's all subjective though. You should take a good hard long look at potential photographers galleries and pick one you like the style of. I quite like documentary photography which is becoming more popular at weddings. Others like to have all the traditional portraits.

I read this the other day which should probably be bared in mind when looking at prices. http://blog.nikkimaydayphotography....e-wack-erie-pa-wedding-photographer-response/

Jon Thorne produces beautiful images. As important, he is a total joy to work with - sympathetic, tactful and with total integrity. He used to be the chief photographer on the Newsletter and started his own business a few years ago. Weddings and commercial. He would never, ever let you down. I think the website is thornephotography.com

Dave Wakefield did my wedding photos a few years back. Great photos - very professional and was great with the kids. Good price too. :)

Just a shame I'm lined up for a divorce 4 years later* :(

*Note:- this is by no means dave Wakefields fault

I knew a couple who were divorced before their pictures appeared in Peter Roger's window display..

I remember a photographer who sent me, digitally, some examples of his work which included a wedding portrait. They didn't have titles but of course the images had file names. The wedding one was very conventional, showing happy young couple, smiling broadly for the camera. It was called 'Fit Bride'. Perhaps that optimistic young woman at the threshold of her new life might have been flattered by the description. I'd have been completely mortified. Although I am pleased to say that on my wedding day all eyes were on my beautiful spaniel bridesmaid.

.....could've had epilepsy and whilst well meaning probably not quite appropriate at such an occasion......
