Hope someone can help. My sky plus remote has gone caput. Don't know what's wrong with it. Tried replacing the batteries and that didn't fix it. So I need to replace it but they are sooo expensive. What do I need to know so that I buy the right one. Would like a cheap secondhand if poss. It's the light grey sky plus box. Is there a version that I need to buy and how will I find out which version? TIA.

So long as I buy a sky plus remote do I need to be concerned about different versions or are they all one version? Thnx.

Ok forget that, I've just looked them up although I'm sure they weren't that expensive when I replaced mine last year.

Have you tried eBay? As far as I know they're pretty universal, probably so you can just pick them up from the supermarket. All I had to do with mine was enter the code on the box after pressing certain buttons, I'm sure you'd find the instructions online.

Just went onto tesco website - they are £26 which is more than I want to pay so will look on ebay and amazon. Thnx.

Thnx Bob! You checked price at same time as me! I'll have a look around then.

Before proceeding further place the Sky remote control on a flat surface such as the floor or a coffee table.
1. Point your Sky remote control away from your TV and press tv.
2. Press select and the blue button together until the light at the top of your Sky remote control flashes twice.

Have you got a smart phone? I'm sure sky has an app that turns you phone into a remote.

I haven't got round to trying it myself yet, but we do use our phones for a remote control for some other things around the house, bonus being the remote apps are free but the product specific one isn't.

I think (from what ive read) on the sky remote app you can check the what's on like on the telly on you phone or tablet, so your not interrupting the tv viewing then change the Chanel on the tv when you've found what you want. Cheap & efficient! If it works
