On my back garden, a small group of us ( nicknamed Bristol irregulars *) try and sort a star party once or twice a year. We take turns to host and it was my turn this weekend.

Our first game of the season at Metchley, and the first play after the kick-off - a five yard gain, so not a bad start. (We won 47-0, but have a tougher test this weekend under the lights of the University's Bournbrook pitch.)

With all those "orbs" on the photo you ought to post it on paranormal/ghosthunting websites. Whilst the more cynical amongst us think that they are caused by light reflecting off water droplets, insects etc there are many at the more deluded end of the paranormal spectrum who think that they are a manifestation of ghosts/paranormal activity. With that number of orbs you ought to be able to rent out your garden to ghost hunting groups, psychic event organisers etc at considerable profit. If you could add in a few of the weirder "inhabitants" of the Chase, even better.

So i decided to go on a hunt for wildflowers today - inspired by reports from elsewhere.

I went to the Castle Wood - an area of which i'm familiar. More than familiar, really, i love this place in ways that i cannot really expand upon - but this doesn't really add anything to the story.

Obviously the Cuckoo Pint is not quite yet in flower, but is equally obviously well advanced - also in leaf but not yet flower, celandine and ground ivy.
